It's a Bird . . . It's a Plane . . . It's a Sculpture?

Barrie's skyline is about to change . . . and Pratt Homes wants you to tell them what you want to see!

As the name of their new project suggests, The Gallery Condominiums will incorporate an original piece of artwork into its design.  4 world renowned artists are vying for the chance to have their work selected. Who gets to decide the winner? YOU DO!

The Gallery Condominiums will install the winning sculpture atop one of their buildings at 300 Essa Road, 60-70 feet in the air. The sculpture will be illuminated at night and be visible to those travelling northbound and southbound on Highway 400 as well as from different locations all over the city. Just as the Spirit Catcher has become an icon for our city, so too will the winning submission.

According to Mayor Jeff Lehman "Pratt Homes is enriching the visual and cultural landscape of Barrie with their commitment to public art and this new competition showcases not only incredible Canadian talent but brings all Barrie residents into the process".

So how can you get involved? Visit www.thegallerybarrie.ca to view the submissions, learn about the artists and cast your vote!

The winning submission will be announced in early September and will be on display in The Gallery Condominiums Sales Office which is set to open on October 17th.
